Chicken Webcams
With a population of more than 25 billion across dozens of species, more chickens are on the planet than people. The first birds were domesticated in China over 8,000 years ago, making it one of the oldest continuous forms of farming and food production practiced today.
You can tell what color of eggs a hen lays by looking at the earlobes of the chicken.
Those with red lobes will lay brown ones, while those with white provide the same color. The one exception to that rule is “Easter Eggers” that have shell tones that range from pink to blue.
Older hens lay more giant eggs, but they also produce fewer of them during the week. It takes about one pound of chicken feed to produce about four eggs.
The average chicken may remember up to 100 different animals and people in its environment.
Most chickens are flightless. The world record for these birds is a flight of 13 seconds that went about 100 feet.
See live chicken webcams at farms, zoos and other places around the world. Some cams even let you watch them lay eggs and watch chicks hatch.
