Located in the western area of Los Angeles County, California; the beachfront city of Santa Monica was reported by the Census Bureau in 2010 to have a population of 89,736. The Santa Monica area consists of many executives, Hollywood stars, surfers, and single family homes.

Facts About Santa Monica
- When the Santa Monica Pier originally opened in 1909 it was used to carry sewage.
- In 1924 the La Monica Ballroom was opened. At the time it was opened it was the largest Ballroom in America. The ballroom which sits on the pier can hold more than ten thousand dancers. After a storm in 1926 the ballroom was renovated and then later turned into a place for dance shows to be held, radio broadcasts, and a skating rink before it was completely destroyed.
- Portions of Iron Man, Hannah Montana the Movie, and A Night at the Roxbury were all shoot in various locations in Santa Monica.
Surf Cam
Santa Monica Bay, eastern shores lie along the southern area of California and have been considered in association with the Pacific’s imaginary line located in the Palos Verdes Peninsula and Malibu. The bay is known to be an ideal fishing destination available all year.
The web cam below shows views of the beach. The camera periodically spans the beach which is a popular surf location as well as zooms in and out. An artificial surfing reef called the Chevron Reef can be located in the bay. Piers such as Venice Pier, Malibu Pier, Hermosa Beach Pier and the Marina Del Rey extend into the Santa Monica Bay.

Santa Monica Pier Cam
The Santa Monica Pier has been a landmark in Santa Monica, California for one hundred years. The double jointed pier which sits on Colorado Avenue originally opened on September the 9th in 1909. Many attractions like Pacific Park, a Ferris wheel, a carousel, restaurants, entertainers and shops were later added for tourists and locals.
The footage below features the Santa Monica Pier beach views. A walk way where pedestrians and bike riders are traveling can be seen in the footage. Another attraction is the Santa Monica Pier Aquarium. The Aquarium draws more than sixty-five thousand patrons per year.

Pacific Palisades Bay
The Pacific Palisades is located in the Westside area of Los Angeles, California. The Pacific Palisades is considered as a district and neighborhood which is southwest of the Santa Monica Bay and north to the Santa Monica Mountains. The current number of residents has been estimated at 27,000 people.
